Custom KPI types

As described in Objective tracking (KPIs), we come with a few simple default KPI types (e.g. unit, finance, percentage). But since people are very creative with the calculations of KPIs (especially in quality management), we allow you to fully define the formula used for your KPI calculation.

Custom KPIs can only be created by administrators using the Workspace settings page, and function similar to the creation of custom risk types

Configuring KPIs

When you add new KPIs you can fully configure how you want them to behave:

The methodology or guidance for the end user on how to take the KPI reading
KPIs are always calculated based on multiple "measures". By clicking "Add measure", you will see extra measures below that can be used in the formula
This is the list of measures which can be of multiple different types
- Range (0,5)
- Number
- Yes/No
- Percentage
This is your formula builder with fixed operations that can be added. Behind final builder you'll see the actual formula you have built
Here you can define how the different measures from step 4 will be used to calculate the final KPI value with following options for its value
- "Value" will take the exact value provided by the user for the measure (The static value field allows you to manually enter values, eg to divide by 100 to get percentages)
- "Min" will take the lowest value provided by the user for the one or more measures
- "Max" will take the highest value provided by the user for the one or more measures
Once your selection in (6) is correct, you can add it to your final formula.
If you made a mistake and want to clear the final formula, you can click the reset button to start again
Similar to Risk types, you can ask for mandatory and optional document properties during the reading as shown in the Objective tracker (KPI) module
